Q. Does the scanning unit have same-sex facilities?
A. We can confirm that we are compliant with the Government’s requirement to eliminate mixed-sex accommodation. For full details click here.
Q. Will my scan take place in a hospital?
A. Your appointment will take place in either a mobile scanning unit within the grounds of a hospital or in a clinic at a local GP surgery or community location..
Q. What happens on the day of the scan?
A. You should arrive 15 minutes before your scan appointment time
If you realise that you will be late or unable to attend the unit please contact the Patient Referral Centre: 0845 581 0301.
After you have been greeted at reception, a member of our staff will explain the procedure. Please feel free to ask any questions regarding the scan/test at this point.
Q. What precautions do I need to take after the scan?
A. You will be advised at your appointment whether you need to take any precautions by a member of our staff. You can also find out more information on this in the patient information leaflet you will have received with your appointment letter which is specifically on your appointment procedure.
A. Your results will be sent back to your GP within 3 working days of your appointment. Please contact your GP to book an appointment with them to discuss your results allowing enough time for your GP to receive the results.
